So how do you finish long anime series like naruto and others? Do you watch that series only or do you watch it alongside with other animes?

for me it takes ages to finish one long series

Don't try to binge watch, you'll hate the series.

Try to watch some episodes, watch some other anime, go back to the long for a few more episodres, stop for a couple months, resume.

Watch as you feel, some days you'll love the anime and watch 5/6 episodres on a row, sometimes you'll be tired of that and want to quit.

There's no such thing as a steady pace.

If it's your cup of tea you'll be eager to watch more without even trying that hard. This is why it's important to pick your favorite genres when it comes to long anime, otherwise you'll end up feeling like you're forcing yourself to sit through each and every episode and you don't want that.

Well first I make sure that it's something I really want to watch. For example, I wouldn't watch Naruto because I know that it has lots of poor quality fillers. Once I find some longer anime that interests me I simply watch it at my own pace, along with shorter series. It doesn't matter if it takes a long time.

yes it does take ages, which is a good thing since one show can provide enjoyment for a long time. Not sure what the problem is with taking long. There's plenty of shows that have taken me a few years to complete with me just taking a break and watching other stuff in between a lot. I'm not in a hurry, I'm not gonna stop watching anime, so why should I rush myself?
I probably regret this post by now.

I usually binge it in bits, like watch 10-20 eps, take a break and watch sth else, watch it again and so on. When I was younger I did usually binge whole thing though... expect One Piece, I couldn't take more than 100 eps binging at one go of that xd

just don't pressure yourself to hurry up with it, simply take your time and stay at your own pace, it'll be much more enjoyable that way

by just watching it? there's also no such thing as an anime that's too long to binge. if the anime is good, you won't even feel the time pass. it doesn't matter if it's long or short, but if it's excessively bad and boring, i will drop it.

I may not be a specialist in terms of watching series like Naruto but... I saw all Dragon Ball series when I was a kid and I also saw Dragon Ball Super not that long ago, of course I've dropped it few episodes after Trunks arc but that's still very big number of episodes. I think the best way is just to watch other anime from your weekly schedule and then if you are in need of something more then turn play button in this long running anime that you are interested in watching.

Btw. in past few days I've starded to rewatch Diamond no Ace, I'm rewatching it like 4th time. It's my best binge-watch ever fav anime. It have 126 episodes in total and I've learned about this anime when it was already after two seasons. I was ill for like week or two and I watched all of it in this time period. Now with this rewatch I'm currently at 46 episode and I'm still watching few others anime that are currently airing so... I guess that it's not that hard to be done :)

Other series that I saw in "full" is Saint Seiya - it's 114 episodes of original series. I was watching it when I was a kid. Not sure if I would enjoy it that much today but then one channel was airing two episodes daily from monday to friday and it was good amount of daily anime for me. Tiger Mask also had more than 100 episodes but I never saw them all. I think I saw like 70-80% of it.
The Young Noble of the Field is currently watching - Diamond no Ace: Act II
Misugi-kun is also reading - Kanojo, Okarishimasu

Watch one a day. If a particular arc is getting good watch more. If you stop enjoying it add to the drop pile.

I catch up on my backlog this way while I watch seasonal stuff. 4 episodes a day at work is what I do.

I tend to watch them when I'm extremely bored, with nothing better to do. Then I'll just watch 6-8 episodes. It will take some months perhaps, because the pace of a long series is a mess every once in a while.

I'm currently watching Hunter x Hunter, which is also a pretty long one ;v;. I try to watch a few episodes and then watch a few episodes of other series so I don't get sick of it too quickly. The anime itself is great, but just watching 150 episodes in a row is a little too much for me personally.

i'm currently watching gintama but the last time ive watched it was two months ago. i really like the show but now i'm not in the mood for it.

watched naruto over 8 months. binged one piece in less than 2 months even with the fillers. often one episode in the train when i went to university und one episode when i went home. time mangement is everything.

but the most important tip is to watch when you are in the mood for it. stop when somethings are annoying or the characters drive you crazy (and tbh every longrunning anime can do that sometimes)

I watch them in short packages of maximum 4 episodes among other anime stuff.

Lets say that this evening there are episodes of 2 seasonals that a follow.
Will watch 2 seasonal episodes and 4 episodes from Long Ass Anime.
Lets say that tomorrow there are episodes of 3 seasonals that a follow.
Will watch 3 seasonal episodes and 3 episodes from Long Ass Anime.
Wednesday night I watch only streams on Twitch and no anime.
Thursday no seasonals so I watch 4 episodes from Long Ass Anime and something else.
...

The point is to have a steady pacing but not getting burned out.

When I was catching up with One Piece, if the arc was at a really good point I would watch it without stopping for a whole month, but then I'd just get bored, watch other animes and just come back one or two weeks later, it's Ok if you don't watch it all at once, anyone can get bored of watching the same thing everyday

I always watch one anime at a time. Regarding long anime, if its interesting enough I can finish them quickly. I recently rewatched Gintama, 201 episodes in two weeks.

By the way, you probably shouldn't watch something you don't enjoy watching.

Even if I don't enjoy it I just want to know what happens at the end and don't wanna find it by spoiling but I stop watching for a very long time like one month or so if I don't feel like watching and then I can enjoy it, I haven't watched any long series tbh, I started FMAB in october but I can't finish it even if it's only 64 episodes, I easily get bored of watching one anime series for too long

I only watch a single show at a time. I also don't drop shows. I watch anime at my own pace - if the show starts slowing down, fueling boredom, I slow the frequency at which I watch. If it picks back up, I start watching at a faster pace again.

I disagree. While that may be the case for some, a lot of people enjoy binge watching.

Naruto, one piece, and bleach all several hundred episodes long; every one of them I binge watched over a few months, usually watching 10+ episodes a day.

For me, all three of their stories had my interest so I was eager to see what happened. It also keeps me focused on that particular work and, in my opinion, let’s me evaluate the work as a whole better than some others.

I.e. a lot of people claim the events in the last war arc of naruto were ass pulls, I however, noticed those events were foreshadowed hundreds of episodes prior to it happening.

I account that to my binging/staying focused on a single show. Where others thought the events seemed random, I vividly remembered the scenes that hinted at them.

Naruto is objectively the best anime ever.

watch at your own pace. If you try to rush it you might get bored of it but If you watch it too slow you might lose interest faster.

I usually complete long shounen series in one or two months. In my case I start watching only like 3 eps per day, but when things get really interesting, I watch at least 8 eps per day. You should just watch them at your own pace. If you watch one episode and you feel like you had enough, then stop for the day and retake it whenever you like. If you've reached 30 eps and still don't feel interested, you should try something else.

I see. The easiest solution would simply be to watch it only when you feel like watching. The obligation to finish it as soon as possible and the corresponding pressure are an enjoyment killer. Patience is the key here.

Usually I don't. I see 100+ episodes and just say "Oh hell no" and pass on it. If I do really want to watch it, I'll wait until it's over (and preferably dubbed to increase the pace of completion) and then start watching it in large chunks of multiple episodes per day until I finish it.

I started watching One Piece seriously in around July 2013 I want to say. It took me up until April 2014 to catch up. I watched pretty much everything that was available.

I think I'd be able to watch everything again in half that time now. I was taking my time with it. Caught up when Dressrosa was in it's early days.

Nothing will compare to the first time I watched it though.

I just watch it at whatever pace I feel like watching it at the time. I usually watch shorter animes alongside it though (I'm talking 12 episode series.)
Depending on what's happening in the show and how intriguing the certain arc/plot is I might watch a bunch of episodes at a time or just a few and continue the next day.

I completed both Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden and here is how I did it:

- Watch One (1) Episode per Day
- Over Two (2) Years, 730 Episodes Cleared

The objective is to enjoy the journey at a comfortable pace while getting a good grasp of the World Setting rather than clearing it just for the sake of the "Completed" status on your watchlist.

During the same period of time, I was also watching the following Anime titles:
- Bleach
- Death Note
- Fairy Tail
- One Piece
- Code Geass

Watch 4 to 5 episodes daily. Usually when an arc is reaching its climax, you'll naturally want to binge the last few remaining episodes of that arc.
Watching a long series can take you months, sometimes even a full year, but if you enjoyed it, you will not regret it, and you'll end up missing the series after you're done watching it!

Are you asking how you should watch long running shows, or are you asking how others do it?

If it's the latter, it depends on my interest. If I'm really interested (Space Brothers), I'll typically watch it at a decent pace, if I ever binge it I never binge more than 4 episodes in a day. If I'm not that interested, or have lost interest (Naruto), I'll watch it in-between the shows I actually really like. For example, I'm watching Mob Psycho 100 II and Dororo, but sometimes even if I'm in an anime mood, I'm not in the mood for either of those shows, or I might be caught up, so that's when I'll watch a long running series. Just as an example, I don't actually have any long running shows I'm watching anymore
